 Top Squad Wildcard fix!Many of you have mentioned the Top Squad Wildcard was unobtainable so we looked into it and fixed an error!
Hello BFBC fans!
As of today, you should be able to obtain it. These are the criteria:
1. Be the Top Squad on every map.
2. Get 10 Squad Member Bonus points in a round.
To get the 10 Squad member bonus points you must be an Avenger or Savior to a squad member two times in a round. Each Savior/Avenger kill is worth 5 bonus points for each instance.
You can view your progress in the in-game awards menu for Top Squad and see if you have both criteria or not. If one is missing, try it again!

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 website has been updated recently with a link to pre-order the game from Gamestop. According to Gamestop.com, the pre-order will ship out on September 28, 2009. Now, Gamestop has been putting release dates on barely announced games for as long as I can remember, but the fact that this is directly linked from the BFBC2 website gives it at least a little bit of weight. No information on the PC edition yet, though. Thx for bringing this news

Welcome to "Project Reality" , a free to download game modification for the Battlefield 2 (aka BF2) retail Windows game. The focus of this mod is to rework the original game engine developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden (Dice) within legal and feasible constraints to create a more realistic combat environment for the gaming community. This includes adjusting various game play elements including physics, visual effects and overall game play formats. Along with changes to how the game handles, the Project Reality team has been introducing British and Insurgent factions, plus a number of community assisted factions are currently in the works to introduce Canadian, Russian and IDF forces to the virtual battlefields. This Mod is not be for the masses, due to the fact that it has a much higher learning curve then your classic arcade game. This is the real deal.
The Project Reality team comprises a group of dedicated individuals, several of whom have backgrounds in armed services and whose sole task is to provide researched material, including statistical information, to the developers. These are in turn tasked with coding and creating the mod itself. If you are looking for a fact based first person shooter from the perspective of a combat soldier, you need not look any further.
The Mod is currently in its eighth incarnation, Project Reality 0.8. In its earliest forms, the Project Reality Mini-Mod (PRMM) series began as a platform to experiment with certain realism changes and analyze their impact on game play with the BF2 engine. As the changes have progressed into tried and tested features, it has become a product with a frequent release schedule which provides the gaming community with ever increasing material on the battlefield whilst improving on the realistic gaming necessary to satisfy their needs.
The ultimate goal continues to be the path to develop and release Project Reality v1.0, a stable and completed Mod build which will be a markedly increased step up from the Project Reality Mini-Mod beginnings. This will include a complete British faction, including all of their various soldier classes, weaponry, vehicles and assets, as well as additional factions created by the community with help from the core PR developers.

The ak47,m16a2,m4,m203,kni_knife,famas,p90 weapon's sounds of the OMS Mod are very realistic. Some sounds are greate funny. Those are someting I chagned myself. It's really cool sounds! And the special game mode :KnifeWar mod was added. I am the first man to make the KnifeWar game Mod of all the BF2 Mod! (This KnifeWar mod should be OMS mappack download.) For your information,

By RaygenTouch of Chaos is a mod that aims to be less "excessive" than other
mods of the type. It adds infinite ammo to ALL weapons along with
some new sounds here and there.
A few things that have been done:
* Infinite ammo to weapons / vehicles
* Upgraded tanks (and AT mines to match)
* Invincible transport vehicles
* Devastating "Uranium" C4
* New weapons for Support kit
* Devastator Rifle for the Medic
* New sounds
The sounds come from:
YouTube, Half-Life 2, Camobox, Prey, Call of Duty 4, etc.
NOTE: (MAYBE) the mod is in Dutch. This (MAY) be fixed in a next
version if it is.

DICE: We are not going casual
Battlefield and Mirror's Edge developer DICE has reiterated its commitment to its hardcore fans, saying, "we are not going casual". Speaking to VideoGamer.com in an interview to be published tomorrow, producer Patrick Liu insisted DICE, which made its name with the PC-focused Battlefield franchise, "will continue to do what we are best at". His comments come following the announcement of Battlefield 1943, the download-only follow-up to Battlefield 1942, due out this summer on Xbox LIVE, PSN and PC. DICE has described 1943, which will cost between £10 and £15 to download, as an entry level shooter intended to appeal to those who might not have heard of or played a Battlefield game. Also in the works is Battlefield Heroes, a free-to-play cartoon shooter aimed at the casual PC gaming market. He said: "We are definitely still making PC games, we've not forgotten about that. 1943 is announced for PC. Bad Company 2 is announced for the PC, so obviously we got the engine (Frostbite) running on PC. We just recently released Mirror's Edge on PC as well. I would say that we will continue to do what we are best at. We are not going casual, just because that is the trend. We're not good at that. It's not our core focus for the studio." And Liu had an exciting message for Battlefield fans: "I feel a little sad sometimes when people say they're lazy or they're not listening to the fans. Yes of course we keep track of what the forums are saying. I can't say anything really, but we have plans. Definitely big plans. The fans don't need to worry."

 Hello Heroes, You will be happy to know that we will start the Battlefield Heroes Closed Beta tomorrow, February 11th. If you already have a Beta Key from the earlier Beta phase or activated your Beta account already, you will be good to go. You will NOT need to sign up again *. Starting some time tomorrow, you will be able to Beta test Battlefield Heroes. You will also receive a new email with guidelines and instructions in case you still need to activate your account, (re-)install the game, etc. If you don't have a Beta Key yet, please keep in mind that we’ll be giving them out in the fairest way we can, which is as follows: Firstly, everyone still on the waiting list from the first Beta phase. Secondly, everyone else, including those of you who sign(ed) up using our form. Haven't signed up yet?To be able to sign up you must be logged into the Heroes website with your EA account. If you don’t have an EA Account already, you can sign up for one here. Once you are logged in, head over to the sign-up form. I just signed up, but I didn't receive an email!We're not sending out emails yet. As slots open up for the Closed Beta, we plan to be sending out Beta keys in the thousands! What is a Beta?As we develop a new game it goes through lots of phases. The final ones are called “Beta” and “Launch”. Launch is when we open the game up for the whole world to play. The Beta phase is like a rehearsal for the launch; where we test everything out with a small audience before allowing the rest of the world to play. In a beta you are likely to find lots of small things that don’t work as they should, we call these things “bugs”. We’ll need your help to find these bugs, so we can squash them. *I had a Beta Key, but I lost the email. What do I do?Unfortunately we can't re-send Beta Keys. Cinema Blend has some additional details about a possible boxed edition of Battlefield 1943.
For Xbox 360 and PS3, you'll only be able to purchase the game digitally. However, for the PC, EA still apparently hasn't decided whether or not they'll release boxed copies of the game. Whether or not you can pick up a BF 1943 disc at your local games store, they will definitely be selling it digitally. Prior to sitting down with Van Dyke, Blend Games also spoke briefly with EA Games publicist Kelly Ekins who confirmed that a decision hadn't been made regarding boxed copies but that they'd have those details soon.
